Keeper Candidates: The Leprechongs

Jason Heyward - $10. 2011 plagued with shoulder injury. Had a higher HR rate in '11 compared to rookie season in '10. If healthy, should put up better numbers than in 2010.
Joey Votto - $33. Will be top NL first-baseman with Pujols and Fielder gone. Highest OBP, most doubles and walks in the NL for 2011. HR rate dropped in 2011.
Buster Posey - $1. Leg injury in 2011. Should hit around .300 with 20 dingers and 75 RBI in 2012.
Clayton Kershaw - $35. Front runner for 2012 CY Young. Lowered bb/9 in 2011. Also had the third highest K-rate among starting pitchers in the entire league last season. Won 21 games despite playing for a lack luster team.
Johan Santana -  $2. Low risk with possible middle reward. Probably won't come close to ace levels but for a $2 keeper, could work out if Santana stays healthy. Remember, the Mets are moving the walls in at Citi Field so a sub-.300 ERA is not likely.
Johnny Ventures - $4. If holds are your thing, Ventures was last seasons top dawg. He wore down in September but should be ready to go for 2012. High ground ball rate.

Projected Keepers: Joey Votto, Buster Posey
